The FORMS II Lite software system is an Environmental Protection Agency Analytical Services Branch (EPA ASB) developed, stand-alone software program to support the mission of EPA and its contractors who visit hazardous waste sites to take samples of soil, water, air, and other sample matrices. It is a Windows-based application designed to automate the field sampling process. Currently, all ten EPA Regions and several State agencies have implemented the use of FORMS II lite. EPA contractors usually take FORMS II Lite software into the field and EPA is responsible for oversight and control of the product's use. FORMS II Lite software has evolved from Superfund project requirements; however EPA's objective has been to develop a generic software application that could easily be tailored to fit multiple sampling event activities. There are currently a number of custom features within the FORMS II Lite software that allow for adaptation to meet generic and non-CLP analysis needs. For example, users could:
